I grew up in South Carolina, spent most of my adult life in N.Y.C. and California's Bay area. Houses have always fascinated me. I am interested in the way different space configurations allow us to live different lives. My experience is extensive. In Charleston, S.C. I lived in a house that dated from the 1700s. In New York, I restored a 100 year old Park Slope brownstone that was badly neglected. In California, I remodeled a house to fit the needs of a growing family and in 1991 lost that house in a firestorm that destroyed 3,000 homes. 2 years and one month later we proudly returned to a newly re-built house.
